Texas Transplantation Society was founded in 1987 to facilitate transplantation within the state of Texas; transplant professionals from surrounding states are also encouraged to join as corresponding members. Membership is open to transplant physicians and surgeons, nurses, coordinators, laboratory personnel, and others who wish to help educate individuals about the critical shortage of organ donors.
